The Dallas Cowboys rookie camp looked more like an alumni weekend as Barry Switzer, Emmitt Smith, Nate Newton, Gil Brandt, Neill Armstrong, Chris Canty, Jay Ratliff, and Deon Anderson all made appearances. With Dave Campo back on staff, three of the seven Cowboys head coaches were in attendance.
Switzer was happy with new running back Felix Jones and Emmitt Smith,
the greatest running back ever, gave Jones some advise and feedback along with Tashard Choice. Smith thought Jones was leaving his chest exposed too much at the point of
contact, easily allowing the linebacker to get his hands on him to
disrupt his route.
Smith said he did not know if Felix knew him from Adam or Eve but Jones said, "Some information that I'll carry on for the rest of my career. He was just telling me that I needed to work on
craft a little more, make it easier on me and not so much harder."
Advice from legends like Smith and experienced coaches like Switzer will only help to mold this rookie class into the next Cowboys greats.
