Dallas Cowboys Stadium Opens to George Strait with Video!!!

Country music superstar George Strait held the opening event at the new dallas Cowboys Stadium last night in Arlington TX.  Concert goers said the stadium was amazing.  Check out the roof opening.

Cowboys Fans Around the World!!!

 

It was one year ago today that I stepped into the lead reporting role at the Cowboys Corner. 

 

And it has been a blast!!!

 

I am humbled to report that over 20,000 yes that 20,000 readers have visited the Cowboys Corner in just one year.  It’s been an exciting year with lots of ups and downs on and off the field for us Cowboys fans.  The feed back I have gotten from fans from all over the world is what keeps me going day after day working to bring all my readers breaking news and opinion with a little humor mixed in.

 

I am Jacked Up for the 2009 Cowboys season and I fully expect to be even better at covering all things Dallas Cowboys this years.

Dallas Cowboys 2009 Season - 1st Post!!!!

Happy New Year and Thank You for all your support in ‘08!

TheCowboysCorner.com is back!!!

Admittedly, it took a couple of days to take last Sunday’s loss to the Eagles and the end of the 2008 season in.  To say that I am disappointed is an understatement.  Like many of you, I really believed that this was the Cowboys’ year.

They had a seasoned QB, a stud RB, a stud WR, a stud TE, a solid ‘O’ line and a defense with all-pros sprinkled throughout including two stud LBs (Ware and James), solid coverage guys with two new arrivals that should only of helped and a least one guy on special teams that was supposed to be special.  Coming off a 13 and 3 season in 2007 and with most of the team in tact and some new supporting cast members like rookie RB Felix Jones and veteran LB Zach Thomas the future looked so bright you had to wear shades.

Well that is why the game is played.  Think about it, neither of the conference champions from 2007 made the playoffs in 2008.  The Patriots were probably the best team ever last year and they did not even make the playoff because one guy was hurt.  There is a fine line between winning and losing in the NFL the Cowboys and the Patriots found that out this year.

But for the Cowboys not all it lost.  There will be a next year and 30 other teams will not win the Super Bowl this year.  That is what we have to look forward to.  In the interest of being positive the glass is truly half full, the NFC playoff teams do not scare me and we will have a lot to build on in the next season.  Look at the bright side the Cowboys should have a better draft position this spring.

My Wife Can’t Believe She Married a Dallas Cowboy’s Fan

Season One - Episode I: “The Beginning”

My lovely and talented wife was born, raised and then dragged away kicking and screaming from her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA USA (specifically the Mt. Washington section of Pittsburgh) by your author, a humble yet loveable Cowboy’s fan.

And she can’t stand it.

A devout PITTSBURGH STEELERS fan, she could walk via an ‘Incline’ ride to Three Rivers Stadium from her house.  And of course she is from a family of rabid Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fans which makes me real popular at family functions.  I can’t complain my in-laws have been great to me, they have even taken me to several Steelers games.  No Steelers-Cowboys games but still very nice.

She knew I was a Cowboys fan even before we got married.  We watched the last Cowboys – Steelers Super Bowl together.  We were married in Mt. Washington at St. Mary’s of the Mount Catholic Church which will seen like useless information but if you watch a televised Steelers game the networks usually show pictures of the city including the “Inclines” going up and down the side of Mt. Washington. The big church on the top of the hill is where we got married.

To try to describe my wife if difficult to put in words, I might say she’s somewhere between Ann Margaret and Peg Bundy from Married with Children. She hates it when I say the latter but let me be clear gentleman she is one good looking red head, milk skin, red wine drinking Irish Catholic. Did I ever hit the lottery with this woman, she looks 10 years younger than she is, she can cook and knows more about football then most men.  When the Steelers aren’t carried on the local TV affiliate she asks me to go to the bar to watch the game.

And did I mention She still can’t believe She married a Cowboys fan. More to come.  Tell your Football Widow wives and girfriends.

Romo Misses US Open Cut

Tony Romo tried to be another Bo Jackson. No he did not try out for the Texas Rangers but he did try to make the U.S. Open.

Romo is a scratch golfer and only missed the cut by four strokes as he shot a 75 at at the Golf Club of Dallas. Had he made the cut he would have moved on to a June 2 sectional qualifier, the final step before earning a spot in the Open.

Now Romo can just focus on beating Eli Manning and the rest of the NFL's quarterbacks instead of adding Tiger Woods to his list of opponents!
